BlackDog.ie SMIL decoder : Offline
This tool no longer works. In mid 2010 RTÉ released a new (better) version of their RTE player, which no longer depends heavily on SMIL files, and now uses Flash extensively. We are not able to find a way around this, or to provide details of other tools that will be able to work around it.
In the mean time we have put together a list of Irish proxies, which, for a small charge, give you access to RTÉ, BBC, Channel4 & Hulu.com. These services reroute your internet traffic temporarily, and make it appear that you have an Irish IP address. Using a proxy will enable you to access geographically locked content from wherever you are in the world.
I still want a free service!
We like your spirit ! We will will even provide you a list of free irish proxies that you can try, but we don't guarentee that they will work or they will be stable. Also we can't provide support to you if you use these services. See here for the list which is updated from time to time. Or search Justin.TV for a live stream.
Why pay for a proxy?
Paying for a professional service enables you to get customer support, and ensures that you will be able to see that live game or TV program you want, when you want. These services aren't that expensive, for less than the price of 2 pints you can have a whole month's viewing pleasure.

We may find a totally free, stable & secure way to offer Irish proxies in the future, if this happens we will contact you. Also from time to time vendors offer us special deals on proxy prices, which we share with our list of users across the world. This is a very low volume email list, generally we only send 2-4 emails per year. We value your time, and we will only send you an email when we think an offer is well worth reading.
